Cinema d'Arte The Phantom of the Open In-Person

Join APEX Arts League and the Southlake Public Library for an evening of connecting with other film lovers. This month, enjoy a unique film that brings to light a feel-good, true story about Maurice Flitcroft, a British shipyard worker who entered the 1976 British Open golf tournament despite having no experience playing the sport.

 

The film will be shown in the Legends Hall Ballroom at The Marq Southlake. Light appetizers and drinks will be served, including wine. This event is open to adults ages 21 & up.

 

Film Synopsis:

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPEN follows Maurice Flitcroft (Mark Rylance), a dreamer and unrelenting optimist who managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship Qualifying in 1976 and subsequently shot the worst round in Open history, becoming a folk hero in the process.
